I think we all know earth is flat so Australia is no more down under! Btw 5 facilities around the world is a bit too much, unless the australian one is a small studio like the one ILM had in L.A. a few years ago(i remember right?) I don't think they will dismantle so easly the Singapore studio, too much know how acquired in 13 years.That's a good point. ILM did spend time with the local Jedi apprenticeship program training people in Singapore. They've invested much. I hope it means they will mostly draw from the substantial talent pool Australia and NZ have built up over the last few decades and not draw back in other places. I wish we didn't have subsidies in order to do so but vfx is one of many, many economic sectors that use subsidisation. They're hardly the worst culprits in that regard.
