ILM and The Void are collaborating on a new AR experience for the Disneyland and World parks.

The attractions will be released in time for the upcoming holiday season.

The Void is an Utah-based company. I've been following their work for the last few years and they recently added Lucasfilm alum Cliff Plumer to their ranks. Their approach to VR is one of an active user where a person walks through a physical space that is then populated with virtual objects. It's not simply putting a headset on and zoning out. You are an active participant.

Looks like Disney World will get one first with Disneyland to follow.
