Interesting trailer, even if it's a bit hit and miss from a vfx point of view. The vistas are breathtaking, but those humanoid pale aliens look very creepy. Do you know wich parts of the trailer( gun-toting creature apart) are made by ILM?

Very good question that I don't know the answer to unfortunately. I do know ILM was supposed to do a self-contained sequence in the film that dealt with an inter-dimensional marketplace. That gun-toting alien might well be a part of that sequence.

As for the pale humanoid aliens, I assume those are Weta's as they do look a bit similar to the Navi at least animation-wise. Weta is the lead vendor too so I assume that is their work.

I love the really colorful landscapes at the first of the film with the colored rocks, etc.

So it might breakdown like this: Rodeo FX = space fx. ILM = inter-dimensional marketplace. Weta=Pale aliens and planetary vfx.

ILM updated their website in the Vision and Craft section with a Valerian bit that states ILM is working on two sequences, not one as originally reported.
