Now, I can understand the idea for some origin stories. Some have the potential to be amazingly good. However, only origin stories? Why?

Why buy a property and then confine it to existing characters and eras? This is not the time to be timid with SW. They claim "skys the limit" and then say they're origins stories. That's not "skys the limit". That's the roof is the limit on the house that's already built.
If Disney truly wants to solidify the brand going forward, they need to infuse that brand with fresh characters and story eras, not just well-worn tropes. I understand monetarily going with a sure bet, but if you don't infuse it with fresh situations and characters, it will quickly grow stale.

Colour me a little disappointed with this news. I was hoping for more.

We will wait and see I guess.
