What Jedi said HDR & WCG gives you a fantastic looking image on 4K UHD discs which have been mastered properly. 2001 & The Shining alone look incredible like they were shot recently as WB spent big money to ensure they were transferred correctly to 4K UHD with Leon Vitali hired for both projects & Spielberg involved in The Shining to ensure it looked incredible and it does!
There are also many other decent 4K UHD movies & a few more coming soon (Back To The Future trilogy has been announced for 2020 along with many other 35th anniversary events
). Shane just ensure you get a reasonable mid budget level 4K HDR HDTV & UHD Disc Player as 4K streams are nowhere near as good quality wise as 4K discs due to bandwidth & lack of HDR on non Apple HDTV's.
Most recent movies now get a 4K UHD release on disc but there are many older classics which have got a disc release as well but nowhere near the same number of titles as DVD or BD as many older films simply do not benefit much from 4K so studios being cheapskates do not bother spending the money required as the older the film the more money needs to be spent to ensure its restored correctly.
Star Trek Kelvin Trilogy all look & sound fantastic.
Alien, Stand By Me, Die Hard, The Fog (1980), Grease, Rambo 1, Goodfellas, Casino, Ghostbusters 1+2, A Few Good Men, Cliffhanger, Blade Runner Mission Impossible 1-5, Jurassic Park, ET, CE3K all look incredible on 4K disc like they were shot yesterday & give you a better theatrical experience in your own home than was possible back on the original release
I spend way more money on buying these classics on 4K disc than anything new entertainment wise
