Indeed. Bringing in a new script writer either suggests they are throwing all of the old stuff out and starting over or maybe just polishing Kopek's writing. I think it might be the former and they are starting from scratch. We might not see Indy 5 for at least a few more years.
2021 so doubt it will even happen now :frown:

I think Disney will make it happen regardless.

Well, if the recent trend is anything to be considered, they'll get to it eventually but market it as "a direct sequel to Raiders that ignores Temple, Crusade and/or Crystal Skull". ;)

They should act as if Crystal Skull was a dream, a very bad one.

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but it looks like OVERLORD is a ILM project. A WWII monster movie produced by JJ Abrams...

OVERLORD looks pretty cool. ILM doesn't list them on their site though. And they also don't have A QUIET PLACE listed.

Oh, and it looks like OVERLORD is R-rated. Now it REALLY has my attention.

Mr. X is also involved.

A Quiet Place is in their credits section. Sometimes they don't put shows up on their In Production list and just go straight to their credit sections.

ILM seem to be involved with a new Grinch animated film coming out this year. Why I wonder, why? It looks like bargain basement animation. I'm going to refer to them as the failing ILM from now. Taking the scraps that other houses leave. Sad!!

Why do we think the failing ILM didn't get an article on their work for Infinity War when every other studio did? Is it because the work is so poor?

I'm already bored of my dumb trump shtick.

aslan, I don't think it's boredom you are suffering but too much liquor.

As for the The Grinch animated film, ILM is doing the vfx for the live action portion of the film. Illumination, the ones behind the bazillion dollar making Despicable Me franchise, are the ones doing the animation. That's why it looks...ehrrmmm..."cheap". ILM is also working on the next Spongebob film as well.

ILM is working with Nickelodeon and Paramount on some animated films after their first foray with Rango. It's part of a move into the animation market full time rather than just on a project here and there.

No How The Grinch Stole Christmas movie will surpass my love of the Boris Karloff voiced original. And the Ron Howard/Jim Carrey live action one was embarrassing. This one will hopefully land at least in the middle of those two extremes.

Seriously, Why ILM 's work on Infinity War wasn't covered? If they made the Wakanda war, the vfx were on par with the rest of the movie. The movie itself was a total bore, imho.

It was covered. Do any of you guys read Cinefex?

I agree, ninja turtle, some articles on INFINITY WAR literally skipped coverage of ILM's work. Cinefex is actually the first time I saw any coverage. I figured they worked on something major, considering they have a credit on the poster. One would think it would mean their involvement is pretty prominent.

On another note, I had an enjoyable time at SKYSCRAPER. It was ridiculous and derivative, but I didn't care. At least it didn't have any pretensions of being anything more. I wish I had seen it in IMAX, though.

Not liqueur Shane, drugs.

Thanks for the info regarding ILM doing more animated films. Kinda wish they weren't for some reason.

Art of vfx literally had individual articles on every vfx house for Infinity War except ILM. I only knew what they did through the process of elimination. Its unusaul even by the current poor standards of vfx coverage. Cinefex is the only place that covered their work and I haven't bought it because frankly, I dont enjoy the mag anymore.

IF i remember right , ILM was credited second, just after Digital Domain. No coverage on FX guide too.

ILM did the massive Wakanda battle, was heavily involved with the design of Thanos's sidekicks and basically was one of the major players in making the film. Which is probably their status for Part 2. I was a bit miffed why Art of VRX did not cover ILMs involvement, but perhaps ILM had something to do with that. Thanos was the "big deal" for INFINITY WAR and perhaps ILM was letting DD and WETA take the spotlight. The Cinefex article shows how much ILM was involved. Kinda cool to see all those fx shops sharing elements to get the job done...

I doubt the target audience will even know what those great movies are! I have a bad feeling its going to be more forced PC Disney rubbish & better to leave the franchise alone Harrison is just way too old now. He looked ancient in Blade Runner 2049 unless he gets some serious reboot looks wise by the time they shoot Indy 5 in 2 years he is going to look as old as the Grail Knight in TLC!

I just caught that ILM was working on concepts for Fantastic Beasts Part Deux.
